The battle between Mayor Eric Adams and New York City’s rat population may be nearing its end. On Wednesday night, the first-term mayor and Zero Bond regular was indicted on federal charges of bribery, fraud, and soliciting illegal foreign campaign donations. According to the New York Times, the federal investigation at least partially focused on whether Adams received illegal donations from the Turkish government.
Adams has denied any wrongdoing. “I look forward to defending myself and defending the people of this city, as I’ve done throughout my entire professional career,” he said outside Gracie Mansion on Thursday morning, per NBC.
