Shoutout to Alex Cooper for upholding the fairness doctrine, we guess. On the most recent episode of Call Her Daddy, featuring presidential hopeful Kamala Harris, Cooper said she’d extended the same invite to former president Donald Trump. She and Vice President Harris discussed women’s reproductive rights, which would have been the topic with Trump had he shown up. “I couldn’t see a world in which one of the main conversations in this election is women, and I’m not a part of it,” Cooper said. She said Trump is welcome any time to come through and “have a meaningful, in-depth conversation about women’s rights in this country.” And Bruce Springsteen is always welcome to do a voice on The Simpsons, doesn’t mean it’s gonna happen.
Cooper and Harris discussed the fallout of Roe v. Wade being struck down, including some people the VP knows who have become pro-choice since the overturning. “Because ultimately it’s about, look, this is not about imposing my thoughts on you in terms of what you do with your life or your body. It’s actually quite the opposite, it’s saying the government should not be telling people what to do,” Harris said. Listen to the full episode below.
