A previously convicted pedophile is newly accused of messaging underage girls on Facebook. When she was accused, however, she blamed her wife.
The accusations come as Abigail Waller, 29, of England, who was born male and transitioned into a female, returned to court after she allegedly began contacting underage girls.
She reportedly started reoffending just three months after being released from a five-year sentence for child sex offenses that she committed under her birth name, Jamie.
According to The Telegraph, Waller broke court-imposed conditions by messaging three schoolgirls on Facebook using her wife’s phone under a fake profile.
The court heard that Waller allegedly posed as an “attractive” young man while messaging the 13 and 14-year-old girls, telling them that they were “really beautiful” and “so pretty.”
During the trial, Waller tried to blame her wife of nine years, saying that “she knows that I have been in trouble for it before, in the past.”
“I believe she was actually in another relationship with another, current boyfriend that she is with at this time and she wanted me out of the way without telling me,” she claimed to the court.
Jamie Waller was jailed for five years for multiple offenses in 2020, which included blackmailing a 13-year-old girl into sending sexually explicit photographs of herself, per the outlet. She was released early.
Per her sentence, Waller was handed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), that banned any contact with children under the age of 18. She was also forbidden from using any devices that connected to the internet unless police were informed.
While Waller was in prison, she began identifying as a woman in 2021. In May 2022, Waller was released from jail and moved back with her wife Lucy Waller to their home in Gosport, England but within three months she started “grooming” again, according to the outlet.
Waller allegedly used her wife’s second phone, a Samsung, while she worked. She created a fake Facebook profile under the name Jake Smith.
But soon after, Waller was caught by police on Aug. 2, 2022, when police visited the house for a different reason and found Waller had been hiding the Samsung.
Lucy Waller, who is in the process of divorcing Abigail Waller, told authorities that her Samsung was her secondary phone, which she mainly used as an alarm clock, per the outlet. The phone had access to the internet and Facebook, including three accounts linked to it belonging to Lucy Waller, Jamie Waller, and Jake Smith.
After she was arrested, Waller denied four counts of breaching a SHPO. She was found guilty after a three-day trial and was sentenced to three and a half years in prison.
Judge Michael Bowes told Waller at her sentencing that, “You have a serious record for offenses involving children. Looking at your previous convictions, there is a very unpleasant background of seeking to blackmail children.”
