Oui! It looks like Joker: Folie à Deux, the sequel Joker film from Todd Phillips, is doing… not great at the box office, at least on opening weekend. According to Deadline on Saturday morning, the movie is projected to earn about $47 million this weekend in the domestic box office, with about $20 million earned from previews and Friday. It’s below expectations and below what the original film made in 2019 ($96.2 million). Guess you can’t make the same joke twice. Globally, the world might be more into Arthur’s humor than in the States— but not by much— with a projected $80-85 million worldwide. So, there weren’t any Megajokalis double features scheduled this weekend, huh? Well, maybe everyone went back to the [dancing] club instead trying to see the Joker’s gig at a comedy club.
