A country boy for her country album
August 29, 2024: Nobody is doing it like Lana Del Rey. And by “it,” we mean America. Remember when she did a music video that positioned her as both Marilyn Monroe and Jackie Kennedy, with A$AP Rocky as JFK? Her mind. Lana has announced that her next album will be country, and she’s apparently going Method by dating a country boy. Lana Del Rey may be seeing an airboat captain/swamp tour guide. Del Rey was spotted holding hands with Jeremy Dufrene before her set at Leeds Festival. They met in 2019 — which is several (???) love interests ago for Lana — when he let her steer his boat through the bayou. It sounds like a double entendre, but we assure you it’s a factual account of events that transpired on planet Earth.
In the five years since first meeting, the pair appear to have taken their relationship on land. Lana recently made an IG post where she called Dufrene “my guy.” And in a recent performance of “Chemtrails Over the Country Club,” she changed the line “He’s born in December, I’m born in June” to “He’s born in March.” Dufrene’s birth month? Well, it ain’t December. Weirdly, both Dufrene and Del Rey are cuspers on the zodiac — Del Rey between Gemini and Cancer, and Dufrene between Pisces and Aries.

September 1, 2024: Lana Del Rey has officially denied a relationship with alligator boat captain Jeremy Dufrene. “No,” she commented on thejustnlife’s IG post about the alleged affair. “Also, that’s not his daughter on Twitter,” she added, referring to someone who had been on Elon’s site claiming to be Dufrene’s daughter. “GHIS IS HOW I FIDN OUT MY DAD IS DATING LANA DEL REY?(!2!;? HELLO???????” they wrote on Twitter. The poster kept up the facade for a while, then reposted Pop Base’s debunking of their claim.

September 26, 2024: Did you know that there’s a wedding at the bayou? After several reports that the two received a marriage license, it looks like Lana might’ve said I do to alligator boat captain Jeremy Dufrene. People confirmed that the pair did, in fact, pick up a marriage license, and on Thursday, September 26, they may have gotten married. Vulture has reached out to Del Rey’s reps for comment. Daily Mail posted several photos of what looked like a wedding in a bayou in Des Allemandes, Louisiana, where Dufrene conducts his swamp boat tours. Del Rey was seen wearing a white dress, and her father walked her down an aisle; her sister Caroline also attended the event. Time to keep an eye on the Instagram comment section for another statement.
