After a couple of less-than-stellar performances on the field — maybe, maybe not owing to Taylor Swift’s recent absences at Chiefs games — Travis Kelce has been looking a little dejected as of late. While the out-of-character frowning has prompted tabloid speculation of trouble in paradise, “Page Six” insisted last week that everything was just fine. The famous pop star and her famous football boyfriend are just busy! That checks out. But according to TMZ, Swift was again missing in action from Travis Kelce’s 35th-birthday party in Kansas City over the weekend. What gives?
On Saturday, the birthday boy was spotted at his second annual Kelce Car Jam, the tight end’s charity event that raises money for underprivileged children in the area. TMZ reports that everyone from Mama Kelce and Jason Kelce to Patrick and Brittany Mahomes were in the house. Even Trav’s 1970s Chevrolet Chevelle of “So High School” fame made an appearance. When quizzed by reporters about his girlfriend’s absence, however, Kelce said, “She will not be here,” but added, “I know she’s coming in for the game.” Phew! False alarm. Looks like we’ll see Swift on Monday night for the Chiefs-Saints matchup at Arrowhead Stadium after all.
As previously reported by “Page Six,” Swift has been gearing up for the Miami leg of her Eras Tour, which kicks off Friday. After what I imagine must be a physically demanding rehearsal schedule, it makes sense that she’d opt out of a local charity event — especially if she knew she’d see her guy 48 hours later anyway. Let’s just hope Trav isn’t too distracted by his burgeoning acting career to put up a performance worth celebrating — or else, Mama Kelce might have another neg heading Trav’s way.
