Does anyone have a major dance hit that they’re just sitting on right now? I’m asking for Jennifer Lopez. She’s (reportedly) looking for a banger, and if you have one that you’re not using … Just think about it!
According to “Page Six,” Lopez is turning to music in the wake of her divorce from Ben Affleck. All the negative reviews for This Is Me … Now did not deter the star, and if anything, it seems like they might have ignited a fire within her. “They have reached out to songwriters,” a source told the tabloid. “She wants a big dance hit.” The source explained that, career-wise, music is Lopez’s main focus right now.
“There is no point of her going into it unless it’s big, and critics say it’s the old Lopez. She needs a big banger,” the source said.
If I were Lopez’s longtime manager, Benny Medina, would I be telling her to follow her musical impulses right now? Probably not. Let’s not forget that she has a prestige movie-musical coming up with Kiss of the Spider Woman, directed by Dreamgirls’ Bill Condon. If I were Medina, I would maybe be shepherding my client in that direction. That being said, much like J.Lo, I am committed to love and light, so here are some free ideas for her big dance hit:
If all else fails, J.Lo can always just pick up the bright-red phone every pop singer was issued in 2015. Jack Antonoff will be at her location in less than 24 hours.
