Gossip Girl Actress Reported Missing Has Been Found

Chanel Maya Banks, an actress who appeared on Gossip Girl and Blue Bloods, has been found safe after she was reported missing last week. TMZ reports that the LAPD found Banks uninjured, and that no foul play is suspected. The actress had been missing for two weeks according to her family, who had recently flown into Los Angeles to look for her. Banks, who acted under the name Chanel Farrell, had last been heard from on October 30, her cousin told ABC 7 Eyewitness News.

“Five days without hearing from my cousin is red flags and alarm bells,” Danielle-Tori Singh said. Adding, “She doesn’t go more than 48 hours without speaking to me or her mom … That girl is more like a big sister to me.”

Authorities had conducted wellness checks to the actor’s home in the Playa Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles — which she shares with her husband of one year — but did not find her. Banks’s family recently went to the apartment to look for her and found her dog and her belongings, including her car, still there.

Singh told ABC 7 that while she had been putting up flyers around the neighborhood, Banks’s husband (who has not been named) was taking them down. “He’s not willing to help LAPD. He’s not willing to help me or her mom find her. He is removing flyers off of posts and cars,” she said.

“I can tell you in my soul, in my gut, something is not right,” Singh told ABC 7 before her cousin was found.
