My raw, personal, and emotional take on the social acceptability of affiliate marketing on different kinds of platforms.

I’ve been an affiliate marketer for over 3 months now. It might not be a very long time, but I’ve already seen the good, the bad, and the ugly.

I’ve seen affiliate marketers who are honest, ethical, and helpful. They build relationships with their audience and provide them with valuable content. They only promote products and services that they believe in and that they think will be beneficial to their audience.

And then there are the other affiliate marketers. The ones who are only interested in making a quick buck. They don’t care about their audience. They don’t care about providing value. They just want to sell you something.

I’ve seen these affiliate marketers use all sorts of unethical and spammy tactics. They create fake reviews. They send out misleading emails. They even create fake social media accounts.

It’s really disturbing.

And it’s making it harder for honest affiliate marketers to do their jobs.

There are both pros and cons to affiliate marketing.

Pros:

Affiliate marketing can be a great way for businesses to reach new customers and generate sales.
Affiliate marketing can be a great way for individuals to make money online.
Affiliate marketing can help to create a more diverse and competitive online marketplace.
Affiliate marketing can provide consumers with access to a wider range of products and services.

Cons:

Some affiliate marketers use unethical and spammy practices to promote products and services.
Affiliate marketing can lead to conflicts of interest, where affiliate marketers may promote products and services that are not in the best interests of their audience.
