Ivanka Trump may be planning to sit out her father’s second term, but another member of the Trump family seems eager to hang out by Trump’s side: his 17-year-old granddaughter Kai Trump. The teen daughter of Donald Trump Jr. celebrated her grandfather’s win with a round of golf together this weekend, and followed up by dropping an Election Night vlog the next day.
In the vlog, Kai gets her hair straightened and picks out a sparkly black dress before blasting the Mamma Mia! soundtrack while she wolfs down a jerky stick on the way to Mar-a-Lago (apparently she considers it the “best soundtrack ever”). While her grandfather racks up electoral votes, Kai makes fun of her friend Emma for loving Nutella and hangs out with her cousins. In a postmortem that seems to have been filmed after their golf outing with Elon Musk, she shared that she’s “extremely proud” of Trump. “He’s gonna kill it and make America great again,” she gushes from her car. “He’s gonna do what’s right for the people.”

Alongside Trump’s son Barron, who’s just one year older than Kai and is said to have helped engineer his father’s podcast blitz ahead of the election, Kai appears very game to help the Trump camp reach younger Americans. She’s consistently stumped for her grandfather on Instagram and has been equally supportive on her X account (which only dates back to November 2 — huh!), posting a cool little “W” in the wee hours of the morning when the race was called in Trump’s favor. (Between shooting footage for her vlog, of course.)
In any case, it’s a little jarring to see a teenage girl brimming with optimism about what might be the most misogynistic presidential campaign in history. I wonder if Kai has read Project 2025?
