Last week, Lana Del Rey married Louisiana alligator tour guide Jeremy Dufrene in an intimate Bayou-adjacent ceremony, proving she will go to great lengths to sample all that the tapestry of American life has to offer. A week into their marriage, we have heard from Dufrene’s ex-fiancée of 12 years — who says she is “in shock but happy for him” — and now Lana herself, who took to the Instagram comments section of a fan account to share some updates from her new married life.
Commenting on some new footage of her and Dufrene at a restaurant in New Orleans, Lana wrote on @lanaboards.ig, “Jeremy is the one and only. And amazing. And we’re very happy.”
But there’s one thing intruding on their marital bliss: Lana shared that a “local couple from Houma won’t stop flying drones into our windows every morning and following us with a tracker.” She elaborated, “If Sara Michelle Champagne and Kruesch (a famous New Orleans paparazzi) could stop switching vehicles following the family — and stop following us around remote parts of the country and photo shopping my wedding ring into a pearl — I know we would feel a lot safer.”
It’s unclear what exactly “photo shopping my wedding ring into a pearl” means (that part sounds more like a Lana lyric than an intrusive paparazzi practice), but the rest does not sound fun. From now on, if you see Lana lounging aimlessly on the concrete under a “Do Not Feed Seagulls” sign with her new alligator husband, please leave them be. Okay?
