Mary Katherine Got Resurrected to Give Catholic Advice to Kamala Harris

Mary Katherine Gallagher has been resurrected just in time for an important Catholic tradition— the annual Al Smith Dinner. It’s become a tradition that presidential candidates attend the event and give a speech similar to a roast with some self-deprecating humor. While Harris was absent at the dinner, she sent in a video with the help of Mary Katherine (Molly Shannon’s SNL character), who advised her on how to impress the Catholic community best. “Don’t lie. Thou shall not bear false witness to thy neighbor,” Shannon shared in character. “Well, indeed, especially thy neighbor’s election results,” Harris quipped back, keeping in tune with the roasting theme. Shannon followed up with another important rule: “Don’t say anything negative about Catholics,” however, Trump was still fair game, as he had some choice words for Harris for not showing up. But at least Harris can recruit beloved SNL characters; maybe she can get the Lonely Island to reprise their Hot Rod characters next.
