The United States has increased the readiness of its extra forces for a rapid response if an attack by Iran and its allies on American personnel and interests in the Middle East happens after the death of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, according to a Pentagon statement.
“The Secretary has increased the readiness of extra U.S. forces to deploy, enhancing our readiness to respond to a variety of contingencies. And the Department of Defense maintains robust and integrated air defense capabilities throughout the Middle East,” the document says.
The department noted that Austin regularly receives the latest information on the escalation in the Middle East and that the carrier strike group led by the plane carrier Abraham Lincoln will stay in the region
