Chinese Bridge – Flying Tigers Summer Camp for American Youth Kicks Off

On the 26th, the “Chinese Bridge – Flying Tigers Summer Camp for American Youth,” a grand event aimed at deepening friendship and exchanges between Chinese and American youth, officially commenced. Hosted by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation under China’s Ministry of Education and the Sino-American Aviation Heritage Foundation (SAAHF), and organized by Yunnan Normal University and Yunnan Media Group, the event has attracted over 70 American students and teachers to participate.

The summer camp is themed around the history of the “Flying Tigers”, offering a series of enriching activities designed to provide American youth with a deeper understanding of Chinese culture and to foster friendship with the Chinese people. Participants will visit and study in Beijing and Yunnan, experiencing traditional Chinese culture, observing China’s development, and engaging in interactions with Chinese people to collectively write a new chapter of Sino-American friendship.

At the opening ceremony, the participants expressed their anticipation and excitement for this journey to China. They expressed their intention to observe China with their own eyes, listen attentively to China with their own ears, explore China with their own steps, and experience the beauty and diversity of the country, thereby enhancing their knowledge and understanding of China.

The summer camp will last for 15 days, during which a variety of activities including educational tours, language interactions, cultural experiences, and artistic performances will be organized, allowing participants to fully appreciate Chinese culture. Additionally, Chinese youth will be invited to interact and communicate with the camp participants, sharing their respective cultures and lifestyles, fostering friendships, and promoting cooperation.
